We invite submissions of empirical and theoretical papers in all areas of environmental and resource economics to be presented onsite.The deadline for paper submissions is 16 January 2026 (by 23:59 of any time zone). Notification of the outcome of the review process is scheduled for 12 March 2026. The number of submissions per person is unlimited, but the maximum number of presentations per person will be limited to one (including both parallel sessions and thematic sessions). All parallel sessions will be held onsite. All papers must be presented by an author who will be present in person at the Conference. It is not possible to present papers remotely.Please check the Call for Papers for submission guidelines.
Call for Science-Policy-Business sessions
Deadline for paper submission: January 16, 2026
Notification of paper acceptance: February 16, 2026 Submit your session
Science-Policy-Business sessions aim to showcase how the use of environmental and resource economics can contribute to support public policy-making by providing a forum of discussion between policy-makers, the business sector and academia. Sessions are expected to be of interest to a broad audience of research economists. They will typically be formatted as three to four short presentations followed by panel/roundtable discussions. Papers are not required. The Programme Committee will select a limited number of proposed Science-Policy-Business Sessions based on relevance and originality. The Science-Policy-Business Sessions will be held during parallel sessions in hybrid format and will have a duration of one hour and half each. Please check the Call for Science-Policy-Business Sessions for submission guidelines.
Call for Thematic sessions
Deadline for paper submission: January 16, 2026
Notification of paper acceptance: March 12, 2026 Submit your session
Thematic sessions aim to highlight current research on a subject in environmental and resource economics. Thematic sessions will consist of four to five papers connected by a unifying theme. The individual contributions are expected to be of very high quality, both with respect to the scientific content of the paper and the presentation. The Programme Committee will select a limited number of proposed Thematic Sessions based on scientific quality and originality. The proposed papers for these sessions will undergo the normal refereeing process. The thematic sessions will run in parallel in much the same way as regular Parallel Sessions. Thematic sessions will be held in person. The proposal for Thematic Session follow a two-step procedure. Please check the Call for Thematic Sessions for submission guidelines.

This event will bring together researchers, policy-makers, students and various stakeholders to discuss the environmental challenges most urgent of Chile and of the Global North and South.

To type of event

The meeting format will be a hybrid (face-to-face and virtual), in the Hotel Termas de Catillo, located in the city of Parral, Maule Region, Chile. The participation is free, but pre-registration is required once the form is not publicly available.

The organization will cover coffee breaks during the sessions. However, the costs of transportation, accommodation and feeding shall be covered by those who participate in person.

Scholarships for students

Will be awarded to a limited number of scholarships for undergraduate students, master’s degree or doctorate that send jobs to the event, which will cover part or all of the costs of participation. The results of this call will be informed as soon as possible after the notification of acceptance.

Structure of the Meeting

The program will include:

  • Parallel sessions of research.
  • Panel discussions on public policy.

Call for papers on environmental economics

The Research Institute for Development, Growth and Economics (RIDGE) is pleased to announce a call for papers for the seventh Workshop on Environmental Economics, to be held in person in Montevideo, Uruguay, on 8 and 9 December 2025.

The deadline for the submission of papers is September 8, 2025.

Accepted contributions relevant to understanding the most important challenges of environmental policy in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). These include studies of specific countries of LAC, as well as analysis of institutional comparative. We can also accept papers that address issues in other regions which are considered relevant to LAC.

We accept contributions in both theoretical and empirical.

The workshop will be held in the framework of the Forum RIDGE of December 2025, along with the following workshops:

International macroeconomics – 9-10 December 2025

Financial stability – 11-12 December 2025

International trade – 10-11 December 2025

Growth and development in macroeconomics – 11-12 December 2025

Towards sustainable growth – December 2025 (to be confirmed)

Presentation of papers

Accepted completed papers, written in English, through the web site. The cover should include: the title of the paper, the institutional affiliation, address, telephone and e-mail of each author, as well as a summary of the classification JEL ® corresponding.

Papers should be submitted in PDF format and the file must be saved in the following way: ‘the author’s Last name, author’s name, title of the paper.pdf’.

Each author can present and display a maximum of one item per workshop (it is possible to submit articles to other workshops).

New Calculator: Costs of Illegal Mining Impacts

In a continued effort to combat the consequences of socio illegal mining, the Center of Financial Sustainability (CSF) is pleased to announce the latest update of our pioneering Calculator Impacts Miners. Initially developed in 2021 to help the brazilian government to deal with the mining operations illegal, this tool is the first in the world designed to calculate the costs of social and environmental associated with the illegal mining of gold.

This year, the updated version of the calculator expands its reach to the whole of Latin America and the Caribbean, with implementations initials in countries such as Peru, Guyana, Bolivia and Suriname. The calculator provides estimates vital about the potential damages that the illegal mining can cause both the environment and local communities, provides a solid basis for decision making and the design of public policies.

The Calculator Impacts Miners is a testimony to the power of economic tools in the resolution of critical challenges for the conservation and sustainable development. With plans to expand its support to more countries, CSF demonstrates its commitment to environmental protection and social development at the global level.
