LAERE Membership
Welcome to the Latin american Association of Environmental Economists and Natural Resources.
LAERE it is a scientific association international, whose mission is:
- to Foster collaboration and the exchange of ideas between researchers, students and policy makers working on issues of Environmental Economics and Natural Resources in Latin America
- to Contribute to the design and the implementation of policies based on science, with the aim of improving the management of natural resources and the achievement of Sustainable Development in the region
- Develop and encourage cooperation between universities, research institutions, government agencies, Ngos, and private companies that work in the area of Environmental Economics and Natural Resources in Latin America.
LAERE was founded in 2017 by a group of Latin american researchers, after more than 10 years of know each other at conferences in Environmental Economics and Natural Resources throughout the world, became co-authors, friends and partners in this effort by launching a new partnership. During the last 20 years, the number of researchers working in this area in the region has increased considerably. LAERE reach this critical mass, and follows in the footsteps of the previous efforts (namely, ALLOY steel and LACEEP) to build a community that is cohesive from researchers and practitioners.
Although LAERE has members in all of Latin America, as well as in Europe and the united States, we are looking to expand their presence. The goal of this message is to invite you to join LAERE as an individual member. Membership is open to persons who, by their profession, training and/or work are involved in the Economics of the Environment and Natural Resources, as a science with a focus in the affairs of Latin America
LAERE seeks to hold meetings face-to-face in the near future. We are confident that these are an invaluable opportunity for Economists and Environmental Resources, exchange ideas, start collaborations and join. In a near future, LAERE join efforts with universities, research center and other organizations in the region to provide training advanced to its members and the general public. The Board of Directors of LAERE will seek and promote the issue of special issues in international journals of high profile.
