The Centre for Energy Policy and Economics (CEPE), ETH Zurich, and the Institute of Economics (IdEP), Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), are pleased to announce the 2nd International Alpine Workshop on Energy Economics and Policy (AWEEP 2026), to be held on September 3–5, 2026 at the House of Sustainability in Airolo, Switzerland. The workshop is organized with the support of EAERE.

The Workshop

AWEEP 2026 is designed as an intimate, high-quality forum for presenting and discussing cutting-edge research in energy economics and policy. The workshop brings together leading scholars in a unique format that combines traditional academic sessions with innovative, experience-based interactions.

Two distinctive features characterize the workshop:

  • Learning in Nature
Participants will engage in dynamic “hiking presentations” during alpine hikes, offering a creative and interactive environment to exchange research insights while immersed in nature.
  • Alpine Hut Lifestyle Experience
The workshop includes a shared living experience at the House of Sustainability, encouraging informal discussions, collaboration, and academic exchange beyond conventional conference settings.
