Call for papers:  First Congress of the Latin American Association of Environmental and Resource Economists

The Latin American Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (LAERE), in collaboration with the Universidad de Los Andes and the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management (JEEM), are pleased to announce the call for papers for the First Congress of LAERE, to be held in Bogotá, Colombia, from March 19th to 21st, 2025. 

Papers presented at the congress may be considered for publication in a special issue organized by JEEM. 

The submission deadline is November 1st, 2024. 

We are currently accepting extended abstracts and full papers. Extended abstracts should be between 500 and 1000 words, detailing the most relevant aspects of the study. Full papers must be accompanied by an extended abstract submitted as an additional file. Both documents should be written in English. 

During submission, authors should indicate whether they wish to be considered for the special issue in JEEM, and if they want to present their paper in the oral presentation or in the poster session. 

Selected abstracts and papers will be announced by December 10th, 2024. 

A limited amount of financial aid is available for students from countries of the Global South to cover the registration fee and, in some cases, help towards travel expenses. Further information about the congress and a link for submission can be found at https://laere.org/en/upcoming-events/

(LAERE 2025)

19 – 21 March | Bogotá, Colombia

The Congress of the Latin American and the Caribbean Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (LAERE2025) will take place on 19-21 March 2025. The conference will be held in person in the vibrant city of Bogotá, Colombia, including some hybrid events as part of the program.

The conference is hosted by the Department of Economics at Universidad de los Andes and co-organized by the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, JEEM.
