Call for research proposals: Women in the Economy in the Global South (IEA)
The economic profession as a whole is marked by a representation of poor women. Although the general problem of the gender imbalances are gradually being recognized, the precise contours of this under-representation are not well understood and need to be documented more fully.
The International Association of Economics (IEA) is currently seeking proposals for research on well-defined that address the under-representation of women in the economy, especially in the Global South. The goal is to identify effective interventions that reduce the gender gap in the profession, including academia, publications, conferences, and leadership.
Proposals may include the implementation of new interventions or the evaluation of existing policies. The IEA gives priority to proposals focused on Argentina, Colombia, Ghana and Mexico, although it is also accepted proposals of other developing countries.
