The Latin American Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (LAERE) is an international scientific association whose mission is:
- to foster collaboration and exchange of ideas across researchers, students and policymakers working on environmental and resource economics topics in Latin America;
- to contribute to the design and implementation of science-based policies aimed at improving the management of natural resources and the achievement of sustainable development in the region; and,
- to develop and encourage cooperation across universities, research institutions, government agencies, international organizations, NGOs, and private companies working in the field of Environmental and Resource Economics in Latin America.
